Glossary
The terms behind every table on upswap, with examples from run #538.
Definitions
- Basis point (bps)
- One hundredth of a percent: 1 bps = 0.01% of the amount sent. On a $200 transfer, 1 bps is $0.02. Example: in run #538 the cheapest $200 quote on the first sampled route cost 0.16 bps, about $0.003.
- Net received
- The USD value of what arrives on the destination chain minus any extra fee the API reports separately (amount_out_usd − fee_extra_usd). Rankings sort by this.
- Cost excl. gas
- Input value minus net received, expressed in bps of the input. Source-chain gas is not included because the APIs estimate it inconsistently.
- Source-chain gas
- The transaction fee on the chain you send from, as estimated by the quote API. Shown in its own column when returned; Across gas is never counted in rankings (decided policy).
- Tier
- Each route is quoted at three fixed sizes: $20, $200 and $2,000. Fixed fees weigh more at $20; slippage and liquidity show up more at $2,000.
- Run / snapshot
- One pass of the collector over every route and tier with a single price snapshot. Run #538 produced 2,195 quotes from 1,218 requests. See the status page for the full log.
- Rankable quote
- A successful live quote that is not above input and not a fee-schedule row. At $200 in the latest run there were 680 rankable quotes across all routes.
- Quote above input
- A quote whose net received is higher than what you send. These are listed with a warning but excluded from rankings until a real transfer verifies them (1 at $200 in the latest run).
- Fee-schedule (reference) row
- A cost computed from a published fee schedule rather than a live quote, e.g. Circle CCTP. Shown for reference, never ranked (44 such rows at $200 in the latest run).
- Aggregator
- A service that routes your transfer through one of several underlying bridges, e.g. LI.FI or Bungee. Their public quote APIs can include a platform fee; 364 of the latest $200 quotes carried one.
- Intent-based bridge
- A design where the user states the desired outcome and a third-party filler (solver) delivers funds on the destination chain, settling with the protocol afterwards. Settlement and dispute details differ by protocol and are marked 待核实 on each review.
- Integrator ID
- An identifier some APIs attach to requests. upswap sends Across integrator ID 0x03db with an app fee of 0 and earns nothing from quotes.
- ETA (quoted)
- The arrival time the API estimates when quoting. It is not a measured arrival; measured times come only from real-money tests.
- Real-money test
- A transfer we actually send and track end to end. None have been run yet; they are planned after launch and will be published with transaction hashes.
- Data gate
- The minimum evidence before a page is published. Bridge reviews: rankable quotes on >= 5 distinct routes and in >= 5 runs, 7 days before the latest run; bridges whose 7-day rankable quotes all come from the sources added 2026-10-31 also need >= 14 UTC days of rankable quotes from them. Comparisons: both bridges pass the bridge gate, >= 8 common routes and >= 90 head-to-head $200 observations in 7 days; indexable only if >= 2 common routes have real-money tests.
- Head-to-head observation
- One run in which two bridges both returned a rankable $200 quote on the same route. Comparison pages count only these, so both sides faced the same prices and moment.
- Raw response hash (sha256)
- Every API response is archived and fingerprinted, so any number on the site can be traced to the exact response it came from.
