Celer cBridge review
Liquidity-pool bridge coordinated by Celer's State Guardian Network (SGN), a proof-of-stake chain
Key findings
Celer cBridge's pool-based mode takes your tokens into a pool on the source chain and pays the same token out of a pool on the destination chain; the transfer is coordinated by Celer's State Guardian Network (SGN). Fees are a base fee for destination gas plus a protocol fee paid to liquidity providers and SGN stakers. In August 2022 a DNS/BGP hijack of the cBridge website cost users about $240K; the contracts were not affected. Data is still accumulating: we started sampling cBridge directly on 31 October 2026, so this page draws no cost or ranking conclusions yet.
As of 3 Nov 2026, 10:35 UTC (run #538), Celer returned quotes on 14 sampled routes (42 quote rows in this packet). At $200 it was the cheapest ranked quote on 4 routes. Median cost among its non-negative $200 quotes: 1.50 bps (cheapest observed 1.36 bps). Sources reporting it: Celer cBridge. Real-money tests: none yet — planned after launch.
- 7-day coverage: rankable quotes on 12 routes in 139 of 336 runs (4,493 rows).
- Gas policy: Gas is shown per quote when the API returns it; ranking uses net received excl. gas.
- Real-money tests: none yet after launch

How does Celer cBridge work?
You call the cBridge contract on the source chain; the cBridge gateway and Celer SGN coordinate the release of the same token from the destination-chain pool to your address. If a transfer fails and needs a refund, cBridge prepares refund parameters and you submit the refund transaction on the source chain (cBridge — Pool-based transfer). Pools are priced on a StableSwap-style curve, so large transfers that drain one side cost more (Fungible token bridging models).

What are the risks of using Celer cBridge?
Each item links to its source (L2Beat, DefiLlama or official docs). Items we could not verify are marked 待核实. No overall score.
Message verification
Releases on the destination chain are authorised by the SGN validator set (a proof-of-stake chain run by Celer validators).
CelerCelerWhich token you get
cBridge's 'USDC' pools on Arbitrum, OP Mainnet and Polygon hold bridged USDC.e, not Circle's native USDC; we only sample routes where cBridge's token contract matches the native token.
CelerSecurity incidents
17 August 2022: a DNS/BGP hijack served a malicious cBridge front end; about $240K was lost by users who approved the attacker's contract. The protocol contracts were not compromised.

What fees does Celer cBridge charge?
- Base fee
- Paid in the transferred token to cover destination-chain gas. Celer
- Protocol fee
- A percentage paid to liquidity providers and SGN validators and stakers. Celer
Our cBridge quotes come from its public estimate API (GET /v2/estimateAmt, no key) and already include both fees. Quotes with zero fees that we cannot verify are labelled anomalous and not ranked. The quoted time is cBridge's published 7-day median. Source-chain gas is not counted.
How did its quotes perform in our data?
Quotes for Celer in run #538, by the API that reported them.
| Source | Type | Routes | Quote rows | $200 cheapest | Median $200 bps | Negative-cost rows |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Celer cBridge | direct | 14 | 42 | 4 | 1.50 | 0 |
Negative-cost quotes (receiving more than you send) are listed, never ranked. Cost excludes source-chain gas.
Has upswap tested it with real money?
Not yet. Real-money tests are planned after launch; no test wallets or transactions are published yet.
What are the pros and cons?
Pros
- Long-running bridge with published pool and fee model.
- Same-token transfers, no swap on either side.
- Public estimate API without a key.
Cons
- Pool liquidity can run out ('insufficient liquidity'), and some tokens are paused.
- Its 'USDC' on several L2s is bridged USDC.e.
- Refunds need your own source-chain transaction.
Who is Celer cBridge for?
Data is accumulating (direct sampling since 31 Oct 2026). On this site it covers ETH between Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and OP, and USDT between Ethereum, Arbitrum and BNB Chain.
Has it been hacked?
No incident linked in our incident library.
Which official links are verified?
What is still unverified?
- 待核实 Why every route into BNB Chain USDT returned zero fees on 31 October 2026 (the response carried an 'op_fee_rebate' field ending 1 November 2026, which the docs do not explain).
- 待核实 Who can upgrade the cBridge pool contracts, and the current SGN validator count.
