Key findings

NEAR Intents is an intent network: market makers compete to fill your order, and the intents.near verifier contract on NEAR settles it atomically or refunds you. The 1Click Swap API wraps this into a quote-and-deposit-address flow. The protocol fee is 0.0001%, but 1Click adds a platform fee (20 bps on most cross-asset routes, 1 bp on stablecoin or same-asset routes). In October 2026 a settlement-contract bug was exploited for about $3.8M; all funds were returned.

As of 3 Nov 2026, 10:35 UTC (run #538), NEAR Intents 1Click returned quotes on 37 sampled routes (181 quote rows in this packet). At $200 it was the cheapest ranked quote on 1 routes. Median cost among its non-negative $200 quotes: 15.17 bps (cheapest observed 0.31 bps). Sources reporting it: LI.FI, NEAR Intents 1Click. Real-money tests: none yet — planned after launch.

How does NEAR Intents work?

You state what you have and what you want. Market makers bid to fill it; the approved quote is executed by the intents.near smart contract, so the swap either completes fully or you are refunded (NEAR Intents docs).

With the 1Click Swap API, you get a quote and a quote-specific deposit address; you send funds there, and 1Click handles intent creation, solver coordination and execution. Assets settle on-chain and 1Click does not take custody (1Click docs). Assets enter and leave NEAR through bridges such as Omni.

    Everything settles in one contract, intents.near. Between 29 September and 1 October 2026 a bug there let an attacker create ≈ $3.8M of unbacked balances and withdraw real tokens; the exploiter returned the funds about a day later.

    With 1Click you send funds to a deposit address created for your quote rather than calling a contract yourself; refunds go to the refund address you supplied if the swap cannot be executed.

  • Upgrade authority

    intents.near has no full-access keys; only the controller contract ctl-intents.near holds the Upgrader role that deploys new code. Releases are registered by the Sputnik DAO intents.sputnik-dao.near (5 council members, 3 votes needed), which is also super-admin of both contracts, and the upgrade call is sent by a single Updater account. We found no timelock: a release can go live once the DAO vote passes. Any one of seven pause-manager accounts can pause the contract.

Useful for routes other bridges don't cover (e.g. BTC, Zcash, non-EVM chains) and for stablecoin moves at 1 bp; keep amounts moderate, since upgrades take effect without a timelock.
